STATUS:
The €17 million project, spearheaded by main contractor JJ Rhatigan, was executed in phases to seamlessly integrate new accommodations within an operational hotel environment. A meticulous construction program was implemented over two phases to ensure minimal disruption while meeting the evolving needs of guests. Central to the design approach was harmonizing the new bedroom extensions with the existing building's distinctive architectural style. This involved careful consideration of materials and aesthetics, with Zinc/Metal Cladding chosen to create a visual counterpoint to the original stone and glass façade. The new elements were meticulously aligned with existing window openings to maintain architectural cohesion, while projecting triple-glazed boxed windows added a contemporary touch. These upgraded rooms adhere to Clayton's stringent standards for 4-star accommodations, with adjustments made to align with current regulations and brand specifications. Furthermore, the project introduced 'The Italian Kitchen', a new self-contained restaurant on the ground floor, enhancing the hotel's culinary offerings and overall guest experience. Additionally, existing function areas were reconfigured to create versatile spaces equipped with AV facilities, movable partitions, and storage, catering to various events and gatherings. By expanding its facilities, the hotel aims to strengthen the Clayton brand and carve out a distinct identity in the increasingly competitive airport locale, thereby enhancing its appeal to travelers and visitors alike.
