STATUS:
ENL House is conceived as a contemporary headquarters rooted in place, where architecture draws from the legacy of a former sugar estate while supporting the evolving identity of a diversified Mauritian group. Located within Vivéa Business Park, the project reinterprets elements of the site’s industrial heritage through a refined, modern architectural language. The building is organised to bring together multiple departments within a cohesive environment, encouraging collaboration, visibility and long-term adaptability. Spatial planning prioritises clarity and efficiency, while shared areas and transitional spaces foster interaction and a strong sense of community within the workplace.Architecturally, the project balances solid and transparent elements to create a dialogue between interior and exterior. Openings are carefully positioned to frame views, introduce natural light and reinforce a continuous connection with the surrounding landscape. The composition remains measured and legible, allowing the building to integrate naturally within its context.Sustainability is embedded within the project’s performance strategy, with ENL House achieving ISO 50001 certification for its energy management systems. Environmental considerations are integrated from design through to operation, supporting both user comfort and long-term efficiency.Recognised at the International Property Awards 2014–2015 with accolades for Best Office Architecture in Mauritius and Africa, ENL House stands as a considered response to contemporary workplace design—where heritage, performance and user experience are brought into alignment through architecture
